As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will be hands-on and responsible for financial reporting, finance systems, controls, and operational finance delivery across RNZ.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead key accounting activities including month-end and year-end reporting, balance sheet management, audit preparation, taxation compliance, fixed assets, and finance systems administration.

You will operate in a hands-on capacity across all core responsibilities while working closely with, and providing guidance and support to, the Financial Accountant and Accounts administrators.

Also, you will be responsible for the ongoing management and improvement of NetSuite and associated finance systems, helping ensure RNZ’s finance processes, reporting, and controls are accurate, efficient, and fit-for-purpose.

In addition, you will work across both day-to-day finance operations and broader finance improvement initiatives, contributing to budgeting, forecasting, reporting, analysis, and organisational projects as required.

Ōu Pūkenga - About You

  • CA qualified (CAANZ).
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in a commercial or financial management discipline
  • Several years post qual experience in financial accounting, reporting and operational finance roles.
  • Experience preparing statutory financial statements and supporting audits.
  • Good understanding of accounting standards, taxation requirements, and financial controls.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
  • Experience improving finance systems, processes, and reporting.
  • Strong accounting and analytical capability with high attention to detail.

This is a full-time role based in Auckland, but we are open to flexibility.
