We are looking for a UX/UI Designer to join our growing Product & Development team, responsible for building insights-driven, user-focused digital products that our audiences love.
In this role, you’ll be working on the ever-evolving rnz.co.nz and on the authoring tools our staff use. You’ll also contribute to the development of new products and journalistic outputs to help us keep up with the rapidly growing demand for RNZ’s independent content.
We are looking for someone who loves working with research to understand the crux of any UX challenge. You take care to understand existing processes, challenge perceived wisdom and suggest alternatives where they’re needed.
You are also an accomplished UI designer who can, in collaboration with the Senior Graphic Designer, design interfaces with a consistent brand experience for our audience, as well as highly functional UI for internal content editors and producers.
The ideal candidate will bring an opinion backed by experience to this role and is confident in representing the needs of users in the product development processes.
This is a great chance for someone to help shape and formalise UX at RNZ.
We offer an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team that values learning and significantly contributes to RNZ’s public service mandate. We have flexible working arrangements and encourage involvement in the wider tech community.
This role is based in Wellington.
Please note: A complete application includes your covering letter and a CV.
