Te Manu Korihi Māori News Editor
Tēnā koutou katoa,
We are looking for a news editor/senior journalist with a reputation for breaking original stories and the necessary experience to lead our Te Manu Korihi Māori News team until 30 June 2019.
This fixed term role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about Māori news and issues in Aotearoa and who can lead and work with a small, dedicated team.
You’ll love story-telling in its many forms, be as comfortable reporting live on breaking news as you are in providing background analysis, be skilled in multi-media, and adept at driving content which meets the needs of a wide audience across Aotearoa.
You will have worked at a senior editorial level in a newsroom and have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Te Ao Māori.
You will be committed to the highest standards of journalism; have a keen news sense; and a proven track record as a team leader. You’ll be confident working across multiple platforms – including radio, digital, visual and social.
The role will work closely with senior RNZ News leaders to share Māori story-telling across all RNZ’s platforms.
This role could be based in either Wellington or Auckland. The fixed term will run until 30 June 2019.
Please note: A complete application includes your covering letter and a CV.
Applications close 5pm Friday 26 October 2018
