Studio Operator - Overnights

This position is required to support RNZ’s overnight Studio and News teams through the operation of studio equipment and providing essential monitoring across the overall production and presentation of radio and multimedia programmes.

Te Mahi – About the job

This is role is based on a rotational roster, between the hours of 11:30pm and 6:00am, 4 days per week

The role offers a variety of tasks which include operating studio equipment, ingesting content for web, and providing essential monitoring across the overall production and presentation of radio and multimedia programmes. 

This includes quality control and editing of morning programme packages, occasional set ups for pre-recorded interviews, supporting our overnight presenters across the country and monitoring both on and off-air output.

Ōu Pūkenga - About You

To be successful in the role, you’ll have: 

  • A background in audio, preferably with a proven track record as a Studio Operator in live radio and/or Audio Engineering.
  • Excellent skills in audio production systems.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work alone and unsupervised, and as a collaborative team member.
