Senior Producer, Podcasts
We’re looking for someone to oversee, grow and evolve our podcasts. So how would you like to join the industry-leading team that made three of the top ten new podcasts in NZ in 2020?
We are looking for a new senior producer and host for the landmark science series Our Changing World. RNZ is renowned for its science coverage and OCW is our flagship long-form science programme. It’s popular as a podcast and radio show and we’re looking for someone who can dig out, break and tell the best stories from New Zealand’s scientists and conservationists.
You will be an excellent journalist and talented story-teller with experience developing long-form narrative non-fiction across a number of platforms. You will have a sound understanding of science and environmental issues and the ability to tell science stories to every day New Zealanders. If you haven’t got a comprehensive contact book already, you’ll be keen to get out into the field and lab to fill it up. And you’ll know a thing or two about podcasts. We want you to help us keep getting better.
As an ideas generator, you will be comfortable working with audio, visual and the written word and will understand digital media.
A natural team player, you will also help others’ ideas flourish and find an audience. You’ll take risks and support people to create their best work.
Reporting to the Executive Producer, the job will require planning, script-editing, a fair dash of creativity and the ability to meet deadlines, craft timely stories and keep improving.
This role is based in either Auckland or Wellington.
Please note: A complete application includes your covering letter and a CV.
