Te Mahi – About the job

This role sits in the Toitūtanga Business Sustainability Team and works closely with Payroll and Finance, supporting the development and maintenance of staff rosters. You will be a key point of contact for kaiwhakahaere and kaimahi with roster-related enquiries, proactively responding to changes and providing timely support.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare, maintain and update staff rosters in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Process roster amendments and communicate changes promptly and accurately.
  • Respond to roster-related enquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity within rostering systems.
  • Monitor leave, availability and staffing requirements to support effective roster coverage.
  • Contribute ideas and initiatives to improve rostering processes and systems.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure continuity and resilience within the rostering function.
  • Support the Finance Team with financial administration as required.

Ōu Pūkenga - About You

  • Experience in rostering, Payroll, Finance or a related role.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to respond positively to changing operational needs.
  • Confidence using rostering, payroll, and/or finance systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel.
  • A solutions-focused approach, with an interest in identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.

This is a permanent part-time role of 48 hours per fortnight, based in Wellington.
