RNZ Pacific broadcasts to radio stations and individual listeners across the Pacific region and produces extensive online news and current affairs content about the Pacific region and New Zealand based Pasifika. Our content is heard through RNZ in New Zealand and is widely relayed and used across the Pacific.

We are looking for an experienced news editor/senior journalist to lead our RNZ Pacific news team and agenda. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone is passionate about Pacific issues in the region and Aotearoa and who wants to work with a small, dedicated team.

You’ll love story-telling in its many forms, and be adept in driving multi-media content which meets the needs of a wide audience across the region and in New Zealand. You will have worked at a senior level in a newsroom and have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Pacific region and of Pacific stories from within New Zealand.

You will be committed to the highest standards of journalism; have a keen news sense; and a proven track record as a team leader. You’ll be confident working across multiple platforms – including multi-media, radio, digital, visual and social.

The role will work closely with senior RNZ News leaders to share Pacific story-telling across RNZ’s platforms.
