Part of RNZ’s strategy involves continuing to expand our digital content and distribution to connect with a growing and increasingly diverse audience.
This is an opportunity for a journalist who is committed to good quality, impartial journalism and has the drive to get their work onto our news programmes and digital channels every day.
You will contribute ideas, carry out research and interviews, gather news information and write, edit and voice news items and extended pieces live on air and online, focusing on news which is important to the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions.

You will:
- Have superior writing, interviewing and live broadcasting skills
- Bring accuracy, attention to detail, curiosity, speed, and creativity to your work
- File written, audio and visual content to tight radio and digital deadlines
- Understand the issues affecting the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions
- A strong, broadcast quality voice is also essential
- Be flexible and able to commit to shift work
- Must have a full driver licence
