Te Tūranga – The opportunity
An opportunity to work on a casual basis with New Zealand’s award-winning public media broadcaster. RNZ aims to strengthen Aotearoa and the Pacific through informative, challenging and entertaining content.
RNZ is looking for casual producers to pick up occasional shifts helping to make our programmes sing.
Te Mahi – About the job
You'll slot in from time to time producing on shows across RNZ National like Afternoons, Nine to Noon, Sunday Morning, Nights and more. Taking direction from an executive producer - and using your own initiative - you’ll be generating story ideas, developing them, and getting them to air.
We value producers who stay on top of the news, book and deliver great talent and know how to have a bit of fun with the audience and their colleagues. You also need to understand and value audiences on different platforms: live radio, web and social media.
Casual producers don’t have guaranteed shifts and the work is on an as and when needed basis.
These roles are office-based and often in a studio environment.
Ōu Pūkenga - About You
- Journalism degree or diploma – or equivalent (which may be achieved through relevant experience)
- Good knowledge of regional, national, and international current affairs
- Knowledge of music and the arts community
- Live radio production skills
- Digital recording and editing skills
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
