Music Scheduler/Cataloguer, Casual
Te Tūranga – The opportunity
Do you love classical music and data entry? Are you
creative yet precise? RNZ Concert is looking
for a casual music scheduler / cataloguer to help deliver a warm and engaging
classical music playlist to our listeners. You will know and love a broad range
of classical and related music and use that knowledge to help you in this
casual role.
Te Mahi – About the job
We’re looking for someone to help catalogue, and schedule music that shapes the sound of our radio station.
- Catalogue and maintain an extensive music library, ensuring accurate data and classification.
- Schedule music content for RNZ Concert using Music Master scheduling software (we will train you).
- Ensure balance, flow, and audience relevance in music programming.
- Liaise with the wider Concert team to support station identity and strategic direction.
- Maintain documentation and assist with compliance reporting as needed.
We work to a weekly deadline, but there is some
flexibility about when you do the work to meet the deadline.
Ōu Pūkenga - About You
- Deep knowledge and passion for a wide range of classical and related music genres, including New Zealand and international composers, musicians, and producers.
- Experience in programming concerts, making playlists or otherwise curating a successful music listening experience for others is an advantage.
- You are good at learning new software and quickly become a confident user of these tools.
- You have an eye for detail and accuracy. You may have experience in data entry, cataloging or proof reading.
- Familiarity with the musical repertoire and programming of RNZ Concert an advantage.
- Tech-savvy. Familiarity and comfort with computer databases and cataloguing systems.
- Previous experience with classical music repertoire / programming for audiences is highly desirable.
- Sound artistic judgment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
