Your voice will guide New Zealanders through the headlines, both the lighter heartwarming stories, and the more hard-hitting exclusives. With your sharp interviewing skills and engaging presence, you’ll help grow Morning Report’s reach and impact across the motu.

This is a high-profile role for someone who thrives under pressure, commands the mic, and knows how to ask the questions that matter. You’ll be setting the news agenda each morning, delivering stories that resonate with our diverse and discerning audience.

You’ll bring:

  • Be calm and effective under pressure
  • Deep knowledge of politics, economics, sport and international affairs
  • A talent for finding the human angle in every story whether it's serious or light-hearted
  • Digitally savvy, with a strong understanding of using online tools to better attract new and expanded audiences to RNZ

Reporting to the Editor, News Programmes, you’ll be part of a passionate, high-performing team committed to excellence and exceeding the expectations of our audience every single morning.

You'll be someone who:

  • Delivers an engaging experience for our audiences both on air and on-line.
  • Loves telling the stories that matter from breaking news to interviewing every day kiwis doing really interesting things
  • Can simplify the complex and connect with everyday New Zealanders
  • Confident behind a microphone and on camera
  • Thrives on performance and creating compelling listening experiences
