Long Form Journalist, Te Ao Māori
RNZ is looking for a long form journalist, focused on te ao Māori.

You will generate original, beautifully-crafted, in-depth journalism that breaks stories, examines issues and/or entertains.

Your stories will often be about Māori and/or for a Māori audience. They will be told in the style, medium/s and on the platform/s that best suits the individual story and is best positioned to reach a Māori audience.

You will be a junior to intermediate-level journalist who has worked in a news or long form role for at least a year. You will also love to write and have a keen interest in broadcasting.

You will have knowledge of tikanga Māori, te reo Māori and te ao Māori, and will have experience making and working with contacts in te ao Māori.

In this role, you will be given the time and support to chase down stories that matter and then craft them to a high standard.

You will join the friendly and focused In Depth team, who are based in RNZ’s Auckland office (ideally, you will be based in Auckland too), and you will have the support of our Māori news team and our Kurahautū Māori too.
