Te Mahi – About the job

As part of our Infofind team, you’ll work within RNZ’s library and play a key role in delivering up to date and accurate research and background information to our producers, presenters journalists and programme makers.

You’ll assist with collection and catalogue management and keep up to date and informed about new technology and practices in the information industry. 

This opportunity is a fixed term contract, until November 2025. It’s anticipated that the successful person will work 15 hours per week across two days, one day of which is a Friday or Monday, based in our Wellington office.

Ōu Pūkenga - About You

It is preferred that you have a tertiary qualification in Library and Information Studies, as well as practical experience working in a library.

As well as this you’ll ideally have the following:

  • Experience in database searching and providing a full on, urgent reference service
  • Knowledge of library routines
  • A wide general knowledge and keen interest in current affairs
  • Liberty or equivalent library database experience

We are looking for a team player with great communication skills and an eagerness to get stuck in and hit the ground running, given this is a fixed term contract. You will need to be able to prioritise your workload, work well under pressure and be a collaborative and enthusiastic team member.
