Commissioning Co-ordinator

Radio New Zealand (RNZ) is New Zealand's independent public service multimedia organisation and is a Crown entity established under the Radio New Zealand Act 1995.

RNZ provides audiences with trusted and independent news and current affairs, a range of diverse audio and video programmes, both on-air and online in accordance with the Radio New Zealand Charter.

The Commissioning Co-ordinator is a new role and a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting period of development for RNZ as we grow our relationships with external content producers.

Reporting to the Senior Commissioner, the Commissioning Co-ordinator will assist with all aspects of the commissioning process, from project applications through to the distribution and publicity of broad range of new content; from video documentaries to podcast series to children’s stories.  You’ll provide support to external producers throughout their production process and be a key point of contact for a wide range of New Zealand’s most talented content creators.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills

  • A sound understanding of audio and video production processes

  • Competence in media management and website publishing

  • Enthusiasm, focus and a collaborative approach

In this busy and varied role you’ll help to bring independently produced content to RNZ platforms and beyond as we reach out to new audiences to foster a connected and informed Aotearoa.
