Te Tūranga – The opportunity  

An opportunity to work with New Zealand’s award-winning public media company. RNZ aims to strengthen Aotearoa and the Pacific through informative, challenging and entertaining content. 

This is a full-time (40 hrs per week), 3 month contract role during a busy period for RNZ, with the possibility of an extension. You will primarily be supporting the Finance Manager with Financial Management aspects and the accounts team with more day to day administrative tasks such as AP/AR and similar.

RNZ is New Zealand’s only commercial-free, public multimedia organisation and exists solely to serve the public interest by providing unique, impartial services and content to all New Zealanders.

The responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Finance Manager with financial management aspect such as monthly management accounts, year-end financial statements and budgets.
  • Assisting the Accounts Administrator with AR& AP, master file changes, invoice processing, bank reconciliation, processing credit card transactions, processing staff reimbursements and fixed asset administration and accounting.

Ōu Pūkenga - About You

  • A relevant Tertiary Qualification in Finance and Accounting or demonstrable relevant experience
  • CA Qualified.
  • Proven experience in contributing to financial management aspects, ideally a crown owned entity or government organisation.
  • Extensive accounts experience with the ability to manage transactions and administration independently.
  • You must possess a friendly and supportive nature, customer focused approach and effective negotiation skills.
