Aotearoa New Zealand's premier news broadcaster, RNZ, is looking for a journalist with solid reporting experience and a good knowledge of Māori issues to join its Te Manu Korihi Māori news team. The position is based in Auckland.

You will be responsible for identifying the day’s top Māori issues stories, writing them to RNZ’s exacting journalistic standards; airing them during top-rating news programmes Morning Report and Checkpoint; and producing material for our website. You will also contribute to the weekly Maori news programme Te Waonui ā Te Manu Korihi.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, with proven story-breaking ability and good contacts in this field. Solid news judgement, initiative and good on-air skills (or potential) are essential.  Multi-media experience is desirable.

Knowledge of Te Reo would be an advantage.
