Deputy Editor - Checkpoint
Checkpoint is RNZ’s flagship multi-media drive-time programme.
In the past three years it has created a new on-air, online and visual experience, breaking great stories and growing the audience. We have plans to develop this further and want a great senior journalist/producer to join the team.
You will love breaking and explaining the news, have experience editing other people’s work (across audio, video and written pieces) and be calm under pressure.
Our ideal candidate will love working as part of a broader team and collaboratively with others. Experience successfully managing others is a must.
You will have a great track record for:
Planning and delivering work under tight deadlines.
- Adopting an audience-first approach in exercising news judgement.
- Being flexible without compromising core standards.
- Able to lead in an inspiring way, helping solve problems in demanding situations and complex environments.
