Audience Research Manager

RNZ is looking for an experienced, nimble and highly communicative Audience Research Manager with extensive knowledge of digital and broadcast media, to advance the next phase of our development.

We have seen substantial growth in RNZ’s online channels, audiences and multimedia content in recent years while continuing to build on our excellence as New Zealand’s public service broadcaster.

This role will be pivotal to the continuation of that strategy, with responsibility for all aspects of the commissioning, analysis, reporting and dissemination of audience insights at RNZ, across all of its distribution channels and platforms.

Reporting to the Leader, Product and Audience, this position sits within RNZ’s new Audience Strategy team which strives to put actionable insights at the heart of RNZ, to reach new and diverse audiences and to increase the frequency and quality of engagement by existing audiences.

In this role you will bring research expertise and insights to bear on RNZ’s current and potential audiences and their engagement across RNZ’s multimedia programmes, content and platforms; special projects as well as our diverse content and distribution partnerships. You will also advise and give input into a multi-channel news and entertainment editorial strategy,influencing innovative editorial, product and programme development.

Naturally you will have plenty of up-to-date experience, ideally in a broadcasting and/or multimedia environment as well as a solid understanding of digital analytics.

This role may be Wellington or Auckland based.
